Unit description
Further develops the skills of the student osteopathic clinician in supervised clinical practice including application of theoretical concepts to case history taking, differential diagnosis, clinical reasoning, patient management plans and treatment strategies informed by the best available evidence.
Unit content
- Professional behaviour in the osteopathic student clinic
- Introduction to professional practice reflecting on osteopathic scope of practice and the wise use of healthcare systems and resources
- Clinical reasoning and clinical reflection skills to integrate complex information and to contribute to continuous enhancement of professional practice
- Reflective practice: reflecting on the patient’s context and how it relates to a patient/person centred approach.
