Unit description
Enhances the student’s skill and knowledge base in osteopathic diagnosis and technique towards a level required for independent osteopathic practice. This includes critical analysis, and development of interprofessional patient-centred management strategies for diverse populations across the lifespan. In this unit, students will analyse osteopathic health care concepts and incorporate scientific evidence (including the determinants of health) into patient management.
Unit content
- Osteopathic diagnosis and management of the autonomic nervous system
- Osteopathic diagnosis and management of the gastrointestinal system
- Osteopathic diagnosis and management of the cardiovascular and respiratory systems
- Osteopathic diagnosis and management of the genitourinary system
- Osteopathic diagnosis and management of the gynaecological and obstetrics systems
- Osteopathic diagnosis and management for the older population
