Unit description

Develops students' ability to disseminate their research findings, including communicating them verbally and in writing appropriate to an identified audience and to promote uptake of research findings in practice.

Topic 1: Measuring the impact of research

Topic 3: Writing for publication

Topic 4: Conference presentations (oral and poster)

Topic 4:  Industry-research nexus

Topic 5:  Implications of research – educational implications, further research

Learning outcomes

Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:
1critically appraise the impact of practice-based research
2create a strategy to translate research findings into practice
3synthesise key literature, research approaches and findings into verbal and written forms that clearly communicate the research outcomes in a manner that is appropriate for the intended audience.
