Unit description
Students work collaboratively with patients and others to review and enhance evidence-based patient centred care and informed decision-making. This unit builds on previous work integrated learning units with increased independence in the delivery of patient management, including communication and quality assurance. Students will engage in peer leadership and mentorship, and monitor safe workplace practices to protect and enhance safety.

- Advanced prescribing principles
- Advanced communication and reporting
- Applying clinical reasoning patterns to enhance patient care
Practicum
Working independently with oversight, to provide a full range of podiatric assessments, interventions and evaluations.
- Monitoring and review of patient care to enhance outcomes and meet patient goals
- Identifying and applying effective interdisciplinary practice principles, including leadership, peer mentoring and communication practice.
- Communication and evaluation of clinical reasoning, and applications of cultural responsiveness and ethically minded practice.
- Engaging in peer reviews and quality assurance practices.
Learning outcomes
