Unit description

Studies the technology of services provided by cloud providers with a view to select appropriate services and develop programs that use their programming Applications Programming Interfaces (API).  Allows students to analyse and contrast security, performance and privacy implications of service providers. 

Unit content

  1. Fundamentals of cloud concepts, models, and service providers

  2. Cloud technologies, APIs, and security issues

  3. Cloud mechanisms and databases

  4. Cloud architectures and serverless computing

  5. Specialised cloud architectures and interactive querying

  6. Cloud usage, quality and cost metrics

Learning outcomes

Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. On completion of this unit, students should be able to:
