Unit description
Introduces common presenting psychological and developmental disorders that occur in children and adolescents, including depression, anxiety, and neurodevelopmental delay. This unit covers test selection, administration, scoring and interpretation of assessment tools that align with diagnostic criteria and classification systems. A consideration of issues relating to assessment and diagnosis of psychological and developmental conditions in children and adolescents from socially and/or culturally diverse backgrounds is provided throughout the unit. Child protection and mandatory reporting requirements are also included.
