Unit description

Students will learn a range of techniques and practical skills that combine specialized equipment with foundational knowledge in anatomy, biomechanics and other areas of exercise and sport science to analyse human performance in activities of daily living and in athletic movements.

Learning outcomes

Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:
1outline and and apply biomechanical knowledge, techniques and equipment used to qualitatively and quantitatively assess human movements, including gait
2collect and interpret biomechanical data fundamental to gait
3use an integrated multidisciplinary approach to perform qualitative and quantitative analyses of human movement and effectively communicate their findings

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:
