Unit description
Students participate in 96hrs of work integrated learning for up to 12 weeks to demonstrate, with a low level of support, competence in assessment of, and intervention for, adults presenting with communication and swallowing concerns. Students apply clinical reasoning, professional and interdisciplinary skills to a range of client presentations from diverse service delivery and care settings.

- Communication and swallowing disorders in neurodegenerative diseases
- Communication and swallowing disorders in cerebral palsy
- Communication and swallowing disorders in palliative care
- Communication and swallowing disorders in cancer care
- Multimodal and alternative and augmentative communication: assessment and intervention for adults
- Working with diverse client populations and services
Learning outcomes
