Unit description
Students participate in 96hrs of work integrated learning for up to 12 weeks to demonstrate competence in assessment of, and intervention for, paediatric and /or adult clients presenting with communication and swallowing concerns. Students analyse and discuss the implication of pervasive communication delays/disorders in adolescents and adults in terms of educational, employment and social outcomes.

- Contemporary issues in adolescents and adults with developmental language disorders
- Contemporary issues in adolescents and adults with literacy difficulties
- Education, employment and social outcomes for adolescents and adults with communication difficulties
- Assessment of adolescent and adult communication
- Intervention for adolescent and adult communication
- Health literacy for adolescents and adults with communication difficulties
