Unit description
Develops skills in statistical analysis that will allow students to critically evaluate research and to conduct and report analyses appropriately. These skills will provide future psychologists the ability to maintain currency in an ever-evolving industry and researchers to independently analyse data and interpret outcomes in their field. The skills learned in this unit are also highly sought after in many industries.
Unit content
- Statistical concepts, such as variance
- Interpreting p-values, effect sizes, and confidence intervals
- Assumptions of statistical tests, their importance, and how to test them
- Multiple regression analyses
- Between-groups analysis of variance (ANOVA)
- Repeated-measures ANOVA
Learning outcomes
