Unit description
Develops students’ conceptual knowledge of the key curriculum areas of science and technology, mathematics, creative arts, language, history and physical wellbeing for children aged from birth to five years. Students will create a portfolio of resources that can be used to develop children’s conceptual knowledge of these areas, with links made to the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) (DEEWR, 2009) and the National Quality Standard (ACECQA, 2011).

Topic 1: Holistic curriculum in the early childhood setting: an integrated approach to learning.
Topic 2: Key curriculum areas in prior to school settings:
- science and technology
- mathematics
- creative arts
- language
- physical wellbeing
- history
Learning outcomes
Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit.
