Unit description
Provides students with the opportunity to build on skills and knowledge developed in Professional Experience I through further classroom experience. Provides an understanding of theory, issues and contemporary practice of educational program evaluation and how it relates to the secondary school context. Students will develop an understanding of the practical skills required when designing, conducting and reporting educational program evaluations. Focuses on the further requirements for beginning teachers starting out in this profession, in regards to the skills needed to be a competent, confident and effective practitioner.

Module 1 – The Graduate Teacher Performance Assessment (GTPA)
- Introduction to the GTPA
- The importance of context in relation to student learning
- Data and evidence
- Aligning curriculum, planning and assessment for teaching
- Feedback and judgment
- Standards and moderation
- Culminating statement, justifications and reflection
Module 2 – Preparation for the Profession
- Ongoing professional learning
- Communicating with parents and carers
- Working in a learning community
- Employment preparation
- Preparation for Professional Experience
Module 3 – Professional Experience II
Students will undertake 25 days of professional experience.

Learning outcomes
Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. | 5 | Reflect critically and creatively on teaching practices, drawing on classroom experiences of student learning. |
| 6 | Confidently approach the interview process for future employment. |
| 7 | Identify professional development needs and goals and seek advice and support from colleagues. |
