Enrolment information

Students MUST achieve a Pass grade in EDUC6017 - Education for Impact: Into and Beyond the Profession to commence the professional experience placement. Students MUST provide evidence of compliance for all placement requirements prior to attending professional placement. Full details are available at www.scu.edu.au/education/education-profession/professional-experience/ Only ONE placement can be completed in a Term unless approval has been granted by the Director of Professional Experience.
Enrolment restriction

Students to submit a Unit Approval request via My Enrolment. Students must have satisfactorily completed both components of the Literacy and Numeracy Test for Initial Teacher Education (LANTITE) AND Professional Experience II before enrolling in this unit.

Unit description

Provides students with the opportunity to practise and develop their learning and teaching in a professional environment. Before the placement, students undertake an orientation to prepare for the expectations and requirements of the professional environment. During the placement, students record and reflect on their experiences as informed by relevant course content and professional standards and principles. After the placement, students share their experiences and submit a portfolio as evidence of their engagement in the professional environment.

All placement units consist of three phases, with the placement days being situated in the second phase.
