Unit description

Investigates relationships between tourism, sport, culture and other special events. Students critique event impacts, trends, and the role of entrepreneurialism to inform event practices.

Unit content

 

Topic 1: Defining differences in sport, culture and special events

Topic 2:  Examining the economic impact of events 

Topic 3: Assessing the social and environmental impacts of events

Topic 4: Trends in participation and serious leisure

Topic 5: Secrets to entrepreneurial sport event designs

Topic 6: Secrets to entrepreneurial cultural event designs

 

 

Learning outcomes

Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. On completion of this unit, students should be able to:
