Unit description

Develop skills in and understanding of publishing and editing creative work, freelancing, marketing, reviewing and writing groups/communities of practice. Provides students with valuable industry-based knowledge and practical advice for establishing or continuing their careers as writers.

Learning outcomes

Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:
1demonstrate an understanding of literary production and the marketplace.

3develop social and cultural awareness of communities of practice in the writing discipline.
