Learning outcomes

Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:

list and summarise historical and contemporary Western design themes across a range of disciplines from Renaissance to the 2000s, and the interrelationship of design themes and the societal circumstances in which they arise

list and summarise the use and significance of design and technology in Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander and other Indigenous communities then summarise the interrelationship of design themes and the societal circumstances in which they arise

critically analyse the implications of new and emerging technologies and the interrelationship with environmental sustainability in a globalised context.
