Learning outcomes

Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:

describe the foundational principles of vocational education and training (VET)

analyse the policies, frameworks and organisations which impact on VET delivery in Australia

outline the history of VET and analyse issues currently affecting the VET sector

explain the context of teaching and learning within the VET school framework

reflect upon the specific strategies required for teaching within a VET framework

demonstrate an awareness of the ongoing nature of VET developments, together with a strategy for maintaining a current knowledge base

analyse the relationships between VET and industry
