This unit contains professional experience learning/ laboratory activities that require students to meet mandatory compliance requirements prior to attending. Failure to comply with these requirements will result in you being unable to undertake the Professional Experience Learning and/or stipulated Laboratory Activity which may result in failure of the unit. Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.
On completion of this unit, students should be able to:
Appraise evidence, including research and assessment tools, to thoroughly investigate a client’s condition in order to formulate a diagnosis and develop a person-centred management plan
provide information and demonstrate affective counselling techniques, to be responsive to clients' and significant others' needs and concerns, whilst maintaining professional boundaries/clinician wellbeing
demonstrate effective problem solving, communication and interprofessional practice when providing intervention to clients
