TCHR2010 - Theory to Practice: Education and Care for Infants and Toddlers (mandatory co-requisite)
Students MUST provide evidence of compliance for all placement requirements prior to attending professional placement. Students MUST comply with the vaccination requirements of the placement providers. Failure to comply with these requirements may result in a fail grade. Full details are available at www.scu.edu.au/education/education-profession/professional-experience/ Only ONE placement can be completed in a Term unless approval has been granted by the Director of Professional Experience.
Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.
On completion of this unit, students should be able to:
demonstrate ethical and professional conduct in the professional experience setting with commitment to and engagement with the early childhood community
create, develop, implement and document early childhood educational programs for children with sound links to understandings of children’s learning, child development, theories of learning, understandings of diverse families and communities and research
demonstrate understanding of professional skills to support children’s pro-social development and competencies
create, design and assess flexible, healthy, sustainable environments that support children’s learning
