Jennifer Harrison BBus (with Dist.) Hons I (SCU) PhD (UNE) is a Senior Lecturer in the Southern Cross Business School based at the Gold Coast Campus of Southern Cross University, Australia. Her current school service positions include Department Head, Accounting, Finance and Quantitative Methods and School Director of Research Training. Dr Harrison has over a decade of higher education experience teaching subjects such as business finance, managerial economics, research methods, quantitative methods and introductory accounting at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. She holds a Southern Cross University Medal. With over 35 research publications in entrepreneurship, strategy, management, accounting, finance and marketing, Jennifer has a multidisciplinary understanding of business. As methodological consultant and data analyst, she has been actively involved in a wide range of consulting projects across a variety of industries including banking, agriculture, software development and sport and fitness and for firms such as Microsoft and the Chandler McLeod Group. She is also a member of the board for the not-for-profit Northern Rivers Social Development Council. Prior to entering academia, she held accounting positions in the advertising industry. Dr Harrison’s current research interests are focused on two main areas: strategic entrepreneurship, particularly within ICT firms; and the voluntary financial disclosures of listed companies. She supervises a number of higher degree research students in related topics.
