Jobs Connect is a new initiative which gives employers the chance to advertise casual and part-time vacancies on the SCU website free of charge, across all campuses. Students will be able to view the advertised positions and apply for the jobs for which they are most suited.
“Students are always keen to work part-time to help meet the cost of study,” Jobs Connect Project Officer Pearl Chaloupka said. “We hope that this new service will make the process of seeking work and advertising vacant positions, beneficial for students and employers alike.”
Jobs Connect is not an employment agency but rather a conduit between employers and students. The selection of successful applicants will be the responsibility of each employer.
"We want businesses to know that advertising with us gives them the potential to reach a pool of bright and motivated students," Ms Chaloupka said. "There's no doubt that the dedication and commitment necessary to study at a tertiary level are the same qualities that are valuable in a job applicant."
Employers wishing to access the service will be asked to abide by appropriate terms and conditions which are available on the Southern Cross University website (www.scu.edu.au).
