The Byron Bay Writers Festival is proud to announce that renowned environmentalist Dr David Suzuki will speak in Coffs Harbour for one night only, on Thursday, October 12.

David Suzuki’s appearance in Coffs Harbour, supported by Southern Cross University, offers local residents a unique opportunity to meet this respected planet watcher in their own backyard.

Described by Tim Flannery as ‘the greatest environmentalist of our age’, David Suzuki has dedicated his life to inspiring and equipping people to recognise and preserve the fragile balance of the world they inhabit.

In this, his final speaking tour of Australia, David will talk about that life and introduce his latest book, 'David Suzuki: The Autobiography'.

This is the story of his passion for the planet, a passion that for several decades he has brought to the world through his research, his writings, his broadcasting and above all through his life and the way he lives it.

David Suzuki’s Coffs Harbour appearance affords an unrepeatable and immediate opportunity to share in the thinking of one of the most respected figures of our time and to voice heartfelt concerns and beliefs in a passionate and lively forum.

Books will be on sale before and after the event and David Suzuki will be available to sign.

David Suzuki - The Ultimate Tour will be held on Thursday, October 12 at the D Block Theatre, Southern Cross University, Coffs Harbour Education Campus, Hogbin Drive. The event will start at 7pm.

Bookings are essential. Tickets are $12 and are available from the University Co-operative Bookshop, phone 6659 3225.
