The anthology explores a rich diversity of human experience and each piece offers a unique take on life.
Sometimes humorous and ironic, at other times moving, thought-provoking and confronting, this collection celebrates the creativity and experimentation of a new generation of emerging writers.
The anthology of 47 prose, fiction and poetry pieces has been put together by an editing team of nine upper level students of writing at Southern Cross University, under the supervision of Dr Janie Conway-Herron (pictured), co-ordinator of the Associate Degree of Arts (Writing).
The editing team has been involved in selecting the best work from upwards of 200 submissions from across the spectrum of writing students at Southern Cross University, working closely with students whose work has been selected, editing, proofing and layout of the final selection, development of the cover design as well as organising the launch, plus advertising and distribution of the final product.
Coastlines 4 is the fourth volume in a series of successful student publications from Southern Cross University that have been launched at the Byron Bay Writers Festival by such literary luminaries as Helen Garner, Dorothy Porter and Carmel Bird.
This year's anthology continues the tradition. It will be launched at the festival on Saturday, August 5, in the Lakehouse at 3pm by well-known Australian writer, Robert Drewe.
