The Armidale School has enlisted the support of Southern Cross University to provide Year 12 students of the area's private colleges with some advice on their Higher School Certificate preparation.
The HSC Preparation Seminar starts at 8.45 am tomorrow at The Armidale School's Memorial Hall in Butler Street Armidale, and will involve around 150 Year 12 students from The Armidale School, New England Grammar School, O'Connor Catholic College, and the Presbyterian Ladies College.
The seminar will be delivered by Southern Cross University's academic staff from its School of Law and Justice in Lismore, and School of Psychology in Coffs Harbour, and its aim is to provide the students with the best possible approach to their final secondary education examinations.
The seminar will include sessions on effective study habits, coping with the stress of examinations, and effective strategies and techniques for examinations.
The students will also hear from Southern Cross University students regarding life on-campus - they'll be Adrian Henry, a Business student from Kiama on the NSW South Coast, and Lydia Rodstrom from Gunnedah who is studying Tourism and Hospitality Management.
There'll also be a session tomorrow night for parents and students about the university application and enrolment process, together with information on the range of scholarships offered by Southern Cross University.
For further details contact the University's Prospective Student Adviser, Janet Hanlan, on Mobile: 0418 451 395.
