Anyone interested in starting a university course can beat the end-of-year rush and apply for a place in a range of Southern Cross University courses open for mid-year intake.

An information session outlining all the courses available at the Coffs Harbour campus will be held on Monday, May 16 from 5.30pm to 7pm.

Southern Cross University has allocated a number of places specifically for mid-year enrolment to provide greater flexibility for prospective students.

Courses in arts, business, information technology, technology education, psychology, human services and marine science are open for enrolment through the Universities Admission Centre (UAC). The closing date is June 3. Applications for external study can be made direct to the University.

Admissions manager Mr Peter Barnard said starting a university course mid year was an attractive option for many people.

Mr Barnard said Southern Cross University saved places for people who couldn't enrol at the start of the year because of work commitments, family responsibilities or completing other studies.

The Information Session, to be held in the D Block lecture theatre at the Coffs Harbour campus, will include information about the application and admission process and student support services, as well as course-specific details.

Tea and coffee will be available. For information about mid-year enrolments contact the Application Hotline (freecall) 1800 626 481 or visit the website: www.scu.edu.au and follow the link to Mid Year Applications.
