Southern Cross University is seeking accommodation for up to 28 international students who will begin their studies at the Tweed Gold Coast campus this month.

More than 50 international students from countries throughout Asia and Europe will be undertaking postgraduate studies in business, tourism and accounting.

International student advisor Ms Heike Kerber said the students were mostly mature-age and usually stayed in Australia for 12 to 18 months.

“We are looking for anyone in the community who may be able to help with accommodation reasonably close to the Brett Street campus,” Ms Kerber said.

“The students are looking to rent two or three-bedroom flats which they can share, or rooms in people’s houses, preferably all furnished.”

The students, who complete their studies on a trimester schedule, will take part in an orientation week from January 17.

SCU’s main orientation week will be held on the Lismore, Tweed Gold Coast and Coffs Harbour campuses from February 14 to 18.

Anyone who can help with accommodation for the postgraduate students should contact 07 5506 9200 and ask for SCU Residential Services.
