School leavers and non-school leavers have until January 5 to change their university preferences through the Universities Admission Centre.
Southern Cross University admissions manager Mr Peter Barnard said main round offers would be made on Thursday, January 19. Late and final round offers will be made on 23 January and February 2, if places are still available.
"Now that the school leavers have their HSC and UAI results, it's a good time to have another think about what they want to study and where they want to go," Mr Barnard said.
"There is also still time to make direct application to SCU for distance education and through UAC and QTAC for the late and final round offers."
Mr Barnard said there had been strong interest in a variety of courses at SCU's three campuses at Lismore, Coffs Harbour and Tweed Gold Coast.
The most popular courses based on UAC and QTAC first preferences are: the Bachelor of Education and Bachelor of Nursing at the Lismore campus; Bachelor of Business in Hotel and Resort Management, Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) and Bachelor of Education at Coffs Harbour and the Bachelor of Business at the Tweed Gold Coast campus.
Other courses which have attracted strong interest include naturopathy, contemporary music, applied science, human movement science, tourism and sport tourism management.
"With three campuses in some of the best locations in Northern NSW, SCU offers a great place to study courses which are focussed on career outcomes and providing hands-on experience."
Southern Cross University will reopen on Tuesday, January 3. For assistance from this date contact the SCU application hotline on (free call) 1800 626481. For UAC and QTAC information visit the websites www.uac.edu.au or www.qtac.edu.au
