More than 500 high school students from Maclean to the Gold Coast and west to Bonalbo and Woodenbong will head to Southern Cross University’s Lismore campus for Senior Schools Day on Thursday, November 30.

The annual Senior Schools Day provides students going into Year 12 with first-hand information about the university experience, courses on offer and how to apply.

The day will include specific information covering courses available at the three Southern Cross University campuses in Lismore, Tweed Gold Coast and Coffs Harbour.

Organiser Mr Glenn Jeffery said the general information session would cover topics including how to apply, the Star Scheme, scholarships, costs and student life. University staff will also be providing information on the various facilities and services available.

“We will also be running a number of course information sessions to give students the chance to hear about particular courses on offer at Southern Cross University,” Mr Jeffery said.

“Another really valuable part of the day is the panel session with current University students. This gives the high school students the chance to ask questions about what life at university is really like.”

Senior Schools Day will be held at the Lismore campus on Thursday, November 30, from 10am to 2pm. A Seniors Schools Day for students in the Mid North Coast region is being held on Tuesday, November 28, at the Coffs Harbour campus.
