Southern Cross University is offering personalised tours at each of its campuses for all prospective students who are considering study in 2007.
Applications have now opened through the Universities Admissions Centre (UAC) for anyone wanting to study next year. Students interested in undergraduate programs with Southern Cross University have until September 29 to apply through UAC and the Queensland Tertiary Admissions Centre (QTAC). Applicants who want to study by distance education or enrol in a postgraduate program can apply directly to Southern Cross University for entry.
Group Director of Student Services Mr Carl Rallings said there was a comprehensive range of courses on offer covering areas including tourism and hospitality management, business, education, law, multimedia and information technology, nursing, environmental science, naturopathy and Indigenous studies.
The University also offers courses in psychology, arts and music, social sciences, natural and complementary medicine and exercise science and sport management.
An exciting new course, being offered for the first time in 2007, is the Bachelor of Clinical Sciences degree at the Lismore campus, which prepares students for allied health professions.
“Our courses have been designed in consultation with industry to ensure they are relevant to the workplace and are up-to-date with industry needs,” Mr Rallings said.
“Southern Cross University has an offer guarantee for most courses so school leavers with a rank of 70 or higher will secure a place.
“This offer guarantee is a significant assurance for them especially in a climate where cut-offs can fluctuate.”
A large number of scholarships are also available for 2007, including government-funded, industry and University scholarships.
The personalised campus tours are available at the three campuses in Lismore, Coffs Harbour and Tweed Gold Coast. The tours include information on courses, scholarships, accommodation and application information and requirements. Tours can be booked by phoning 66203975.
Information on all Southern Cross University courses is available on the website www.scu.edu.au or by phoning 1800 626 481.
