With enrolments now open for mid-year at Southern Cross University, it is the perfect time to be considering how to enrich your life through tertiary education.

There are mid-year intakes for degrees covering business, tourism (including Hotel and Resort Management, Environmental Tourism, Convention and Event Management, and Sport Tourism Management), early childhood, primary and secondary education, nursing, arts, paralegal studies, sport and exercise science, information technology, Indigenous studies, environmental science and a range of post-graduate study options.

For those who feel their study skills are a little rusty, either because it has been years since they did formal study or because they feel their high school marks were not high enough to gain university entry, there is the option of joining the highly successful foundation studies program Preparing for Success.

This free program - designed to smooth the path for would-be students by teaching them the practical research, computing and analytical skills they need to pursue their academic studies - requires only 14 hours of face-to-face study each week, plus self-directed study, over 13 weeks, beginning on June 29, 2009. It can be done in a variety of flexible ways.

To study at the Lismore, Coffs Harbour or Tweed Gold Coast campus from Semester 2, which begins on June 29, students are invited to apply via the Universities Admissions Centre (UAC) or via the Queensland Tertiary Admissions Centre (QTAC).

UAC applications for Semester 2 are now open and for Semester 1, 2010 they open in August. QTAC applications for Semester 2 are now open and for Semester 1, 2010 will open in July.

Personalised campus tours are also available at all campuses and can be booked by phoning 6620 3975.
