It’s not too late to enter the SCU Engineering Photo Competition, with the closing date extended to Friday 2 August.

The Southern Cross University Engineering Photo Competition aims to increase the community’s interest in engineering by encouraging entrants to capture an interesting perspective that shows how the built environment complements or supports natural environments in regional Australia.

The best images will appear on the walls of the University’s engineering building in the Lismore campus’ new science and engineering precinct and will feature in a 2014 University calendar.

Other prizes are:

Winner: the revolutionary new Lytro camera that lets you focus or refocus your pictures on a computer after you take them – courtesy of The New Camera House, Lismore.

Highly Commended: Wacom Inkling digital pen and receiver; Kaiser Baas waterproof sports camera with mount; and a Lacie Rugged mini external hard drive – courtesy of Co-op bookshop, Lismore.

Peoples' Choice: iPad mini – courtesy of Southern Cross University.

The competition is open to high school, university and TAFE students and the general public.

The closing date has been extended to 2 August 2013.

Southern Cross University is offering a civil engineering degree for the first time in 2013.
