Come and unlock some of the mysteries of the sea during National Science Week’s ‘Science under the Sea’ event at Southern Cross University’s National Marine Science Centre in Coffs Harbour.

Activities will include a display at the Coffs Central Shopping Centre on Thursday, 15 August, and at Park Beach Plaza Shopping Centre on Friday, 16 August, from 10am to 4pm. On Saturday, 17 August, the NMSC will have an open day featuring hands-on activities, guest seminars, presentations and tours of the facility from 10am to 4pm. Mr Luke Hartsuyker, federal Member for Cowper, MP, will open the event.

All members of the public are invited to participate free of charge.

Event organiser Mr Stephan Soule said the event was now in its third year.

“Science under the Sea – 2013 will be another great opportunity for members of the public to pique their interest and understanding of the marine environment, and to learn more about the diverse range of research being undertaken at the National Marine Science Centre,” he said.

Among the activities will be:
