Around 1300 high school students who are just starting their first term of Year 12 are getting a taste of university life at Senior Schools Day at Southern Cross University’s Gold Coast, Lismore and Coffs Harbour campuses this month.

Up to 600 students are expected at Senior Schools Day at the Coffs Harbour campus tomorrow (October 21) and 500 at the Lismore campus on October 30.
Students also had the chance to visit the Gold Coast campus last week.

The students are coming from close to 50 schools across the region.

The University’s annual Senior Schools Day has been specifically designed for students starting Year 12 and is an opportunity to find out about the courses on offer at Southern Cross University and discover what life is like on campus.

“This is the ideal time for these students to start considering their post-school options. The aim of Senior Schools Day is to stimulate interest in their academic pursuits and long-term aspirations,” Lucinda Crews, University student recruitment officer, said.

“Students get a chance to have a look around the campuses to see the range of facilities that are on offer. They can also talk to lecturers and current students, who will be providing information on all aspects of life at University.”

Information will be provided on two new degrees being offered at Southern Cross University in 2015, the Bachelor of Regional and Urban Planning (Honours) and the Bachelor of Contemporary Studies.
