How to feed the world with aquaculture, the impact of rising sea temperatures on marine invertebrates and the movement of mangrove jack in New South Wales waters are just some of the topics to be discussed as part of ‘Science under the Sea’.

Hosted by Southern Cross University’s National Marine Science Centre and part of National Science Week, Science under the Sea will give members of the Coffs Coast the opportunity to learn more about our marine environment.

Event organiser Stephan Soule said that ‘Science under the Sea – 2014’ would be a great opportunity for members of the public to hear about the research being undertaken at the National Marine Science Centre.

The activities will include an exhibition stand at the Coffs Central Shopping Centre on Thursday, August 14, and at Park Beach Plaza on August 15.

The main events will be on Saturday, August 16, and will include an open day at the National Marine Science Centre, with hands-on activities, guest seminars and presentations and tours of the facility.

Former federal Member for Cowper and a long-time supporter of the NMSC, Garry Nehl AM, will open the event at 10.30am.
