Higher School Certificate experts will share exam insights and tips with the region’s year 12 students when Southern Cross University hosts the HSC Study Day at the Lismore campus on Thursday June 11.
Now in its 16th year and organised by the University’s School of Education, the HSC Study Day brings together around 500 students and teachers from Tweed Heads in the north, Tenterfield in the west, and Coffs Harbour in the south.
Deputy Head of the School of Education Associate Professor Marilyn Chaseling said the HSC Study Day presenters were drawn from across NSW, including the North Coast.
“The 19 presenters are chosen because of their high level of knowledge and expertise related to their HSC subject area. They include HSC senior markers, recent supervisors of marking, former members of exam committees, as well as teachers whose students have consistently achieved high HSC results.
“The HSC Day is organised to enhance the knowledge, skills and confidence of our North Coast high school students as they prepare for the 2015 Higher School Certificate examination. Tips and advice will span 23 HSC subjects,” she said.
This year’s event has been expanded to include teacher sessions on Advanced Mathematics, Society and Culture, and Hospitality.
The HSC Study Day is a joint initiative of the University's School of Education, the NSW Department of Education and the Catholic Education Office in Lismore. It was established in 2000.
