Byron Writers Festival and Southern Cross University invite you to a special evening with the creator of The No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency series, Alexander McCall Smith.

The author of the beloved series, which has sold over twenty million copies, will appear in conversation with Southern Cross University School of Law and Justice Dean Professor William MacNeil at Byron Theatre on Friday 9 March.

McCall Smith has authored more than 80 books with his other series including the Scotland Street novels, the Sunday Philosophy Club series, and the Corduroy Mansions novels. His many awards include the British Book Awards Author of the Year Award in 2004 and a CBE for service to literature in 2007.

With his latest instalment, The House of Unexpected Sisters, McCall Smith marks the 20th anniversary of The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency.

The Byron Theatre audience will hear first hand about the people, places and events that have inspired one of the world’s most prolific and popular writers.
