Plans are underway to expand the University's Tweed Gold Coast presence with a new campus at the Gold Coast to complement the University's existing operations at Brett Street, Tweed Heads. Students applying to study in semester 1 2009 will be admitted into the existing Tweed Heads campus and will transfer to the new Gold Coast campus once the foundation building is completed. Courses offered in 2009 will include business, convention and event management, justice studies, social science, secondary education and sport management (surfing studies).
Design and planning of the new campus is well progressed, and construction is expected to start within the next few months. The master plan of the site includes contemporary architecture and landscaping, designed to create formal and informal learning spaces. The campus will be easy to move around, and public transport and on-site parking will make for convenient access. State-of-the art technology will provide students with greater freedom to study how, when and where they want. The Tweed Heads campus student body is an enthusiastic and supportive group of students who have come from throughout Australia and overseas. In addition to the courses outlined above, postgraduate business courses are offered at this campus and have an international reputation for innovation and flexibility [More]
