You are warmly invited to the official launch of the Australian Research Council Linkage Project, Disaster Ready Schools, a landmark partnership with Queensland’s Department of Education, UNICEF Australia, the Australian Association for Environmental Education, and Maribyrnong City Council to advance schools’ preparedness for future climate-related disasters.
The occasion will also mark the launch of Southern Cross University’s Vice Chancellor Flood Recovery pilot project, the Flood Ready Education Framework. Developed by a cross-institutional research team in partnership with child and youth researchers, the framework draws on lived experience of flooding to support schools in strengthening their preparedness for future climate-related disasters. Following a second pilot delivered by Maribyrnong City Council, the ARC Linkage Project now builds on this strong foundation to extend the work nationally.
