Driven by the three pillars of innovation, research and education, the National Centre for Naturopathic medicine is dedicated to raising the bar within the disciplines of Naturopathy and Lifestyle Medicine. The Centre is also heavily engaged in advocating for these professions. Part of this advocacy involves delivering events for those within the industry and the communities in which we teach and practice.

The Natural Products Futures Forum is a two-day event featuring leaders in the field of natural products research and development. Hosted by the National Centre for Naturopathic Medicine, this is the premier event for this annual forum, designed to bring together researchers, government and industry.
The Forum includes networking, social events, workshops and talks by international thought-leaders. It aims to connect natural products stakeholders and key leaders in the Western Pacific region to each other, and those across the world.
This year’s speakers include:
- Michael Smith. Michael has overseen natural products regulation for the TGA in Australia and for Health Canada. He was also one of the primary technical drafters of the WHO Global Strategy for Traditional and Complementary Medicine (2014-2023).
- Ikhlas Khan is the Director of the National Center for Natural Products Research at the University of Mississippi, an FDA Center of Excellence for botanical research.
- Michael Henrich is a professor of ethnopharmacology at UCL (London), and the trustee and co-founder of the foundation 'Plants for Health' (United Kingdom).
The Natural Products Futures Forum will be held on November 24 and 25, in Byron Bay and Lismore. It will identify priority areas for the Australian natural health products sector and lead to the development of strategic initiatives to support the sector to provide high-quality, safe and effective natural health products – to serve as a key driver of the Australian economy.
