How to apply for credit

There are several ways to apply for Advanced Standing to receive credit for your prior learning when studying with Southern Cross University online or on-campus in Australia:

The way in which you apply for Advanced Standing will depend on the way you have applied for course admission:

  • If applying direct to Southern Cross University (online application)
In your online application for admission, indicate that you wish to be considered for Advanced Standing, by selecting yes from the drop-down box provided; or
  • If applying through the Universities Admission Centre (UAC) or the Queensland Tertiary Admissions Centre (QTAC)
Once you receive your Offer from Southern Cross University, use your Student ID to log into the My Enrolment portal. Select eForms from the menu bar to complete and submit the Advanced Standing Application Form.

What do I need to know before I apply?

  1. Unless prior study was completed at Southern Cross, you must attach supporting documents to verify your prior learning.
  2. If you are applying on the basis of informal learning gained through years of paid or voluntary experience, professional standing or performance, read the Portfolio of Evidence for Experience - Guidelines before you apply. It will help you to download and complete the Portfolio of Evidence for Experience - Form.

If you are unable to upload documents, please contact your nearest Student Administration Office.

Your application will be assessed once an Offer to study with Southern Cross University is made. You will receive the outcome by email, usually within 20 working days.
