Advanced Standing
Advanced standing determines the amount of credit from prior study or existing skills that may be awarded towards your degree. Advanced standing is also referred to as:
- Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
- Recognition of Current Competency (RCC)
- Credit Transfer
- Credit for previous study or current expertise
- Exemption
Recognition of Previous Study
Advanced standing may be granted to a student for tertiary studies successfully completed within the last ten years at this university or at another approved post-secondary institution including TAFE, private providers or other universities.
Recognition of Professional Experience
Advanced standing may be granted on the basis of current professional-level experience, skills or expertise that are deemed to be equivalent to Southern Cross University units available in this course.
We recommend you apply for advanced standing at the same time you apply for admission into your course, as the amount and type of credit awarded will determine your study plan.
Refer to the Advanced Standing page for more information.
