Loans and Scholarships

Loans and scholarships are available to assist Australian students wanting a global study experience. Students are also encouraged to search other resources to find scholarship opportunities.

OS-HELP
OS-HELP is a loan to assist eligible students to undertake some of their study overseas. In 2022, students may receive up to $7,100 (non-Asian destinations) or $8,519 (Asian destinations) per six-month study period to assist with a range of expenses such as airfares and accommodation. An additional $1,133 is also available if you are undertaking Asian language study in preparation for study in Asia. Students can apply for up to two loans over two overseas study periods.
Who is eligible for an OS-HELP loan?
To be eligible for an OS-HELP loan, students are subject to a number of criteria to be eligible for an OS-HELP loan which include:
- A student must be an Australian citizen or the holder of a permanent humanitarian visa;
- A student must be a Commonwealth supported student enrolled in an undergraduate course of study at an Australian public higher education provider; and
- A student must be selected by their Australian higher education provider to receive an OS-HELP loan.
How to apply for an OS-HELP loan
Students should apply through SCU International for a OS-HELP loan.

New Colombo Plan Mobility Program
The New Colombo Plan Mobility Program provides funding opportunities from the Australian Government for SCU to provide grants to Australian undergraduate students to participate in Faculty approved semester based (SCU 2x terms) or short term study, internships, mentorships, practicums and research in host locations across the Indo-Pacific region. The program is open to Australian undergraduates aged 18-28 at Australian universities, with capacity to include some students over 28.

The Destination Australia Cheung Kong Exchange Program supports Australian universities to offer short term mobility opportunities for outgoing Australian students and incoming Asian students.
