Welcome to the Faculty of Business, Law and Arts (FBLA) monthly Seminar Series.

This seminar will be delivered by Professor Darshana Sedera and will offer a rigorous and reflective examination of his scholarly approach to research design, collaboration, and academic impact.

Abstract

This seminar will provide a detailed overview of how contemporary research agendas are developed at the intersection of theoretical frameworks, practical application, and societal relevance. Professor Sedera will outline his methods for conceptualising research problems, constructing coherent and strategic research programs, and translating ideas into high‑quality scholarly outputs, with particular emphasis on Digital Business Transformation, sustainability, and innovation.

The session will also illuminate his commitment to interdisciplinary inquiry, industry engagement, international collaboration, and the cultivation of research partnerships that generate meaningful outcomes across academic, policy, and professional domains. Moreover, the seminar will explore strategies for fostering sustainable research ecosystems, mentoring early career researchers and HDR candidates, and aligning individual research pathways with institutional priorities and global challenges.

This seminar will be of particular interest to academic staff, HDR candidates, research leaders, and professional personnel seeking to enhance research culture, strengthen collaboration networks, and advance impact‑oriented scholarship within the faculty and the broader university community.
