Now in its fourth year, the Natural Products Futures Forum has become an annual highlight on the global natural health calendar, growing in reach and reputation each year.

Hosted by Southern Cross University’s National Centre for Naturopathic Medicine (NCNM), the 2025 Forum will run 23–24 October at the Ballina RSL, attracting leading voices from Australia and around the world in research, regulation, industry innovation, and Indigenous knowledge.

Not only is the Forum shaping the future of natural products, it’s also boosting the Northern Rivers economy, drawing international visitors, showcasing the region’s unique beauty, and highlighting its role as a hub for environmental stewardship and sustainable living.

“This event is about more than sharing knowledge, it’s about forging partnerships between science, tradition, and innovation to address the health, environmental, and economic challenges of our time,” said Professor Jon Wardle, Foundation Director, NCNM.

“It’s also an incredible opportunity to welcome global leaders to our region, generating significant economic benefits for local businesses while showcasing the beauty and importance of the Northern Rivers.”

Key Highlights of the 2025 Program include:

  • Global and Australian Thought Leaders delivering keynote addresses and expert panels.
  • Science Meets Tradition – access and benefit sharing, provenance, and Indigenous research.
  • Focus Asia – regulatory developments and business opportunities in the botanical supplements sector.
  • Global Stewardship – sustainability, biodiversity, and circularity in product development.
  • New Horizons in Natural Products – consumer trends, nutraceuticals, and precision medicine.
  • Student Engagement – poster presentations and a Three-Minute Thesis competition.
  • Networking Opportunities – including exclusive evening events to foster collaboration.

Partnership and sponsorship opportunities are available for organisations seeking to showcase leadership, support innovation, and connect with a targeted audience of professionals in the natural products sector.

“The Natural Products Futures Forum has become a global meeting place where science, tradition, and innovation intersect”, said Professor Tyrone Carlin, Vice-Chancellor and President, Southern Cross University.

"Each year, we bring together some of the brightest minds in natural health to explore ideas that will shape the future of the industry.”
