For academically outstanding future international students in all fields of study. The key criteria are to exceed the academic and English entry requirements for the program and present themselves as an outstanding academic candidate.

Application process

Students wishing to apply for the Vice Chancellor’s Academic Excellence Scholarship are required to satisfy the following criteria:

  1. Apply to study an undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degree commencing in 2024 or 2025 (Excludes quota-restricted programs, e.g. Graduate Diploma of Early Childhood and Master of Nursing) at the Gold Coast, Lismore, or Coffs Harbour campus, or online for international students on a non-student visa.
  2. Please note, international students, this scholarship is only applicable to students paying international fees and does not include programs offered online through SCU Ventures, The Hotel School, or Keypath Education.
  3. Exceed the minimum admission entry requirements of the University with consistently high academic performance. Assessment of academic excellence will be undertaken by the Southern Cross admissions team on application to Southern Cross University. 
  4. To maintain scholarship eligibility, students must maintain a GPA of 5.5 or above and meet all other requirements of the program.
  5. Students must meet the attendance requirements of their program and visa conditions to remain eligible for the scholarship.
  6. Students who are Australian citizens, Australian permanent residents, or New Zealand citizens are not eligible to apply.

Candidates must meet all eligibility criteria, including achieving a minimum GPA or score, to be considered for the offer of the SCU Vice Chancellor’s Academic Excellence Scholarship. The candidate's previous academic history and other meritorious achievements will be considered as part of the selection process. Scholarship offers are subject to availability.
