Declared Public Holidays and Concessional Days

In accordance with the University’s Enterprise Agreement, Public Holidays will be based on proclaimed days applicable to Lismore, except for those employees based at the Gold Coast or Coffs Harbor campuses, who will observe public holidays proclaimed in those locations.

Employees who are required to work on a Public Holiday or Concessional Day will be paid at the public holiday rate for that day or may elect to accrue a day off in lieu instead.

Local public holidays

Local public holidays gazetted for 2025:

Southern Cross University will be closed from Monday 22 December 2025 to Friday 2 January 2026 (inclusive), with our final working day being Friday 19 December. We’ll reopen on Monday 5 January 2026.

In line with our operational needs, some roles may be required to remain available or continue working during this period. If this applies to you, your leader will connect with you directly to confirm arrangements.
