Bachelor of Education (Primary)
Wanting to enter the world of teaching? Our Bachelor of Education, majoring in Primary, allows you to teach Kindergarten/Prep to Year 6 and specialise in English, Science or Maths.
The four-year full-time degree includes Indigenous education, sustainability, inclusive (special) education, along with curriculum and pedagogy learning across disciplines.
Bachelor of Education (Primary)/ Bachelor of Arts
This double degree is ideal for aspiring teachers who want to develop a broad understanding of the world and its people. Through extensive professional placements, you'll gain the skills and expertise to teach up to two subjects in secondary schools. With three engaging majors—Creative Writing, Humanities, or Social Sciences—you can tailor your studies to your interests, deepening your expertise in areas that inspire you.
Graduate Diploma of Teaching
The Graduate Diploma of Teaching is a fantastic option for those wanting to start teaching as soon as possible. This one-year graduate diploma is a pathway into teaching in either primary or secondary schools.
Graduates of this course can apply for conditional registration as a casual or temporary classroom teacher after just 12 months of successful completion of study as they work towards the NESA-accredited Master of Teaching.
Professional Certificate in Teaching Mathematics (Out of Field Teachers)
The Professional Certificate in Teaching Mathematics is designed for current secondary teachers of Years 7–10 and primary teachers.
This short course enables out-of-field mathematics teachers to deliver teaching programs and activities to support students’ mathematics and numeracy success.
The Master of Teaching is designed for those with prior studies seeking a career change to teaching. Our two-year full-time program qualifies you to be a teacher in Australia and overseas.
Students will complete a research project, 480 hours of professional experience and deepen their learning with subjects in Indigenous education, digital disruptions, inclusive education and education for impact.
Your knowledge, skills and opportunities are enhanced by learning under our unique Southern Cross Model – designed to deliver greater momentum and motivation, achieve milestones quickly, and set you up for success at university and beyond.
Live locally? Eligible students can apply for The Teaching School - an immersive Master of Teaching program offering two days of in-school experience each week in the Diocese of Lismore Catholic Schools.
