Become job-ready in just one year

Ever wondered how properties change hands so seamlessly? Want to help someone buy their dream home or handle complex issues that arise? As a Conveyancer you play an important role in the transfer of property from sellers to buyers, advising on any hurdles throughout the process.

At Southern Cross University you can study conveyancing online and be supported with HECS-HELP. Our Diploma of Conveyancing (Law and Practice) equips you to navigate conveyancing regulations, draft contracts, and manage real estate transactions.

Graduates may also use the Diploma as an entry pathway to degrees such as the Associate Degree of Law (Paralegal Studies), the Bachelor of Legal and Justice Studies, and subsequently the Bachelor of Laws at Southern Cross University. Students will be able to start working in conveyancing and law firms within the first year, as they progress to become a licensed conveyancer.

Welcome to the Faculty of Business Law and Arts

Professor Mike Ewing
Executive Dean, Faculty of Business, Law and Arts

We're small, we're a community and we care and it shows. Having a low student staff ratio and a small class size students are more prepared to speak up they feel safer they're more engaged.

It's definitely a superior learning environment our academics are committed to the institution. They're committed to students and they're committed to their profession.

Within the business discipline at Southern Cross we believe that there's more to life than shareholders and returning a profit that organizations need to strike a balance between shareholders, employees customers, stakeholders society at large and the environment.

It's an empirical fact that students that have had workplace learning or industry-based learning are more employable. Our students will have had more placement, more industry-based learning. Thanks to the Southern Cross model you can complete the law degree in 3 years. Our second big differentiator is our local focus so we're very much embedded in the communities on the Gold Coast and in the Northern Rivers. The majority of our law graduates end up contributing to the local community.

Right now we're in love with artificial intelligence we're in love with big data and Technology. [the] reason is good but you need emotion. Technology is good but you need people. I see a very important role for Humanity's disciplines going forward. [Music]
