Southern Cross University has created the Women in Technology (WIT) program to support its female IT students. This site has been created so visitors can keep in touch with the latest happenings in the WIT Program.

- Visit interesting and relevant external sites that are dedicated to women in technology;
- Visit Profiles of successful women in the IT field together with current and past student stories;
- Get help with choosing a career path within your degree and look for positions available for female graduates;
- ... and more!
SupportThe WIT program is all about support. WIT encourages female IT students to form a community of learners that will be there for each other. WIT also works closely with the SCU Student Mentoring Program to make sure new students in IT are paired with a WIT mentor (a 2nd or 3rd year student) who will be a 'wise friend' for the first semester of study. EquityWomen studying Information Technology have been historically identified as an equity group by the Human Rights and Equal Opportunity Commission. Southern Cross University is committed to ensuring equity for all members of its staff and student community. Equity Services at the University is committed to reflecting the cultural diversity of Australia and strives to ensure that these principles are integrated into the policies and management of the University. The Women in Technology (WIT) program also works closely with Equity's Student Mentoring program for both on-campus and external students. [find out more about mentoring] Student AmbassadorDuring 2008, the WIT program has a Student Ambassador who is going out into local High Schools to talk about the range of careers available to women in IT, studying at SCU (including scholarships available) and the WIT program.
