Taster Day is an on campus experience designed for Year 10 students to explore university study areas before making senior subject and career decisions.
Students participate in a range of interactive 30-minute sessions across different disciplines, giving them hands-on insight into courses, facilities, and future career pathways.
The Taster Day is designed for Year 10 students interested in exploring university study and career options. Schools can register students through their Careers Advisor, Guidance Officer, or another school representative.
Schools may register up to 30 students for the Northern Rivers and Coffs Harbour campuses, and up to 20 students for the Gold Coast campus.
Schools can register for Taster Day by completing the online registration form on the Taster Day campus event pages.
During registration, school staff will select a campus and indicate the number of students attending. Once the registration is submitted, a confirmation email with event details will be sent to the nominated contact.
Students should bring a notebook and pen for taking notes, as well as a packed lunch and water bottle. Students may also bring money to purchase food and drinks from campus food outlets where available.
No, Taster Day is free to attend. The event is provided at no cost to participating schools and students, giving Year 10 students the opportunity to explore university study areas and career pathways on campus.
Students should wear their school uniform and enclosed shoes when attending Taster Day. Enclosed footwear is required for safety reasons, particularly for students participating in workshops held in teaching laboratories and other specialist learning spaces.
